About Essential Oils...

Essential oils have a chemical structure that is similar to that found in human cells and tissues. This makes essential oils compatible with human proteins and enables them to be easily identified and absorbed into our skin. Because essential oils are soluble with the lipid membranes of cell walls, they have the unique ability to penetrate cells and quickly disperse throughout the entire body. A nicotine skin patch works much the same way.

Essential oils are frequently referred to as the "life force" of plants. Unlike fatty oils, these "essential" oils are a volatile (meaning they evaporate quickly) and highly concentrated liquid that is extracted from the flowers, leaves, stems, and seeds of plants. The amount of essential oils derived from plants is generally limited to just 0.01 percent to 1 percent of the total plant volume.

Therapeutic essential oils are pure nature and cannot be equally substituted by synthetic reproduction. In fact, pure essential oils can be even more potent than some of their pharmaceutical counterparts. This is because the liquid extracted from plants can be from 100 to 1,000 times more concentrated than the nutrients contained in a single live plant.

To better illustrate this point, consider the Jojoba shrub native to the North American desert regions. Jojoba essential oil is extracted from the small nut on the Jojoba shrub and is one of nature's most effective sebum neutralizers for acne-prone skin. Nuts from roughly 1,200 shrubs must be harvested to produce just 8 ounces of the Jojoba essential oil used in our formulas. The result is a powerful concentration of healing nutrients working in combination to give you clear, healthy skin.
